My Own Private Interferometer

2014, Installation, Mixed media, Variable dimensions

This work crystallizes intuitions, assumptions and misinterpretations of early-stage research in the form
of a sculptural installation. The research topic are the principles and applications of the interference of waves, which span different media, disciplines, scales and dimensions, encompassing holography, remote sensing, fluid visualization, spectrometry etc. Choosing not to reproduce a physical interferometer, I tried to explore the phenomena by means of paper folding techniques. My aim was to create a poetic tool for the imagination by freely blending sources, functions and phenomena.
